This activity is about handling, moving and storing the resources required for firestopping, including sheet material, loose material, bagged or wrapped material, fragile material, tools and equipment, components and liquids. This includes checking information relating to storage and movement of materials, following safe and health working practices, selecting and using aids and moving equipment, and moving handling and storing resources.

  • Check project specification, drawings & verbal information relating to movement, handling and storage of resources, to determine their relevance
  • Follow method statements, risk assessments and work instructions, either verbal or in written format
  • Select equipment for the safe movement, positioning and storage of resources for firestopping
  • Identify appropriate storage locations for firestopping resources
  • Move, position, store and secure resources
  • To include three of the following: sheet material, loose material, bagged or wrapped material, fragile material, tools and equipment, components, liquids.
  • Use and maintain lifting equipment
  • Use required PPE
